Martin R. “Marty” French, 57 of Vestal died unexpectedly on Mon. Feb. 2, 2026.

Predeceased by his biological father Ronald Becka, United States Coast Guard.

He is survived by his loving mother, Penny French, Vestal his adopted father Timothy French, Whitney Point, 2 sisters, Mary Ann Marshall, Dearborn, MI., Michelle Lopez, Minnesota, brother, Derek French, Kingston, NY, daughter, Brittany (Cody) Groner, Tampa, FL, his fiancé, Briana Boardman, Vestal and also several Aunts, Uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was the proud papa of 3 bulldogs who were his babies.  Lola, Tater and Mazzi.  Along with his 5 beloved turtles who have a beautiful oasis in his garden pond in the back yard during the summer.  In the winter an indoor playground made of tanks to give them room to play and live.

Marty was a coach and mentor for many young men and women in the fitness world.  He was a coach for Special Olympics where he led several young people to the World Games.  He leaves a legacy of strength and dedication in anyone who knew him; he lived big and loved bigger.

He was owner of F & F Construction in Endicott where he leaves behind dedicated and loyal employees who over the years became his friends and extended family.

All of his beloved dogs were rescues.  Donations can be made to your local rescue center or humane society.

A Celebration of his Life will be held on Sun. Feb. 15, 2026 from 2 to 4 p.m. at F & F Construction 312 Vestal Ave. Endicott.
